Councillor Dasko, Chair called the meeting to order at 9:36 AM.

Each Deputation to Committee is limited to speaking not more than 10 minutes.


Pursuant to Section 57.1 of the Council Procedure By-law 0044-2022, as amended:


Deputations shall be received and the matter shall be referred to staff for a report, unless there is a resolution or recommendation passed to “receive” the Deputation. After a Deputation is completed, Members shall each have one opportunity to make a preamble statement and ask questions to the Deputant(s) or staff for clarification purposes only, and without debate.

Constable D’Amico presented on the subject matter and provided background information on the process and enforcement. In response to questions raised by Members of the Road Safety Committee, Constable D'Amico spoke to response times; complaint priorites; tracking; follow-ups; statistics on ticketing and cautions; reporting, and problem locations. Constable D'Amico spoke to sharing data on tickets issued with the Members of the Committee. 

Councillor Dasko spoke to sharing messages through social media.

Ms. Nguyen-Pham spoke to the subject matter and noted the Mascot will be on hold until the Vision Zero strategy progresses. Ms. Nguyen-Pham noted a report is scheduled to go to General Committee later this year.

Ms. Nguyen-Pham spoke to the subject matter and noted the draft designs were ready for consideration. Councillor Dasko spoke to a motion to request the Road Safety Promotional Subcommittee to review and approve the new design via email.

Councillor Dasko spoke to the subject matter and provided background information with respect to the previous term and tactics. Councillor Dasko spoke to promotional items and materials developed in previous years such as the lens cleaning clothes that said "Stop means stop". Councillor Dasko spoke to organizing a new program with the new Members and setting aside a budget for up to $5000.00 to develop promotional materials.

Councillor Reid spoke to future suggestions for focus such as micro-mobility. Members of the Committee engaged in a discussion with respect to options for future focus. As a result of discussions, staff were directed to provide a list of suggested tactics and events for a future meeting.
