Z. Miller spoke to the subject matter. in response to Councillor S. McFadden, Z. Miller spoke to signal activation and provided the rationale for maintaining the pedestrian and cyclist signal when not activated. In response to comments from Councillor S. McFadden Colin Patterson, Manager, Traffic Services and Road Safety spoke to how it would impact the users if signals were disabled and spoke to the citywide operation. Z. Miller spoke to maintaining consistent operations, prioritizing the pedestrian at intersections and to the process for making changes to signals. Councillor S. McFadden noted that it would be safer to have the pedestrian signals activated only when a pedestrian is present.

In response to Abdul Mannan Mohammed, Citizen Member, Z. Miller spoke to the decision citywide to have Advanced Pedestrian Signals (APS) at all intersections in the city when APS systems are available. 

Mike Mattic, Citizen Member spoke in support of having APS at all major intersections.

Mark Currie, Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee (MCAC) Citizen Member Representative provided an update with respect to MCAC. M. Currie spoke to the Phil Green award and noted the upcoming presentation at Council on April 3. Further, M. Currie spoke to the Network and Technical Subcommittee's work on reviewing the Cycling Master Plan and meeting with the consultant team.

Councillor S. Dasko spoke to a downward trend in statistics and encouraged the public to use official avenues to report complaints such as the Road Watch online reporting tool.

David King, Citizen Member spoke to the Road Watch online reporting tool and noted it is too lengthy. Councillor S. Dasko spoke to providing the feedback to Peel Regional Police int he form of a letter on behalf of the Committee. Councillor J. Horneck spoke in support of the comments made and requested members to provide specific suggestions. In response to Councillor S. Dasko, Allyson D'Ovidio, Legislative Coordinator spoke emailing the Committee to request feedback of the Road Watch reporting tool for Councillor S. Dasko to consolidate into a draft letter to the Peel Regional Police for an upcoming agenda. Robert Fluney, Citizen Member spoke to the online reporting tool and speed reduction in local neighbourhoods.

David King, Citizen Member spoke to concerns regarding e-Scooters and e-Bikes. In response to D. King, Allyson D'Ovidio, Legislative Coordinator noted staff from the Active Transportation section will be attending a future meeting to make a deputation. Further, Ms. D'Ovidio noted that she would request that information regarding rules for Micro-mobility in Mississauga be included in the presentation.
