Ms. Matthews and Ms. Pajtasz presented and spoke to the subject matter. Members of the General Committee spoke in support of the Ontario Business Improvement Area Association and their work. In response to Councillor Reid, Ms. Matthews spoke to the criteria for establishing a Business Improvement Area (BIA). Councillor Kovac spoke to considerations for a BIA in Ward 4 in the future. In response to Councillor Fonseca, Ms. Pajtasz and Ms. Matthews spoke to active transportation opportunities for the conference. Councillor Fonseca spoke to updating the Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee. Councillor Dasko spoke to using the new anthem in recognition of Mississauga's 50th anniversary.

Acting Mayor Horneck spoke to Council procedures at the Region. Councillor Damerla spoke to an upcoming motion with respect to asylum seekers as well as the recent request made to the province regarding Mississauga’s vacant seat at Regional Council. In response to Councillor Reid, Acting Mayor Horneck spoke to city representation at the Auto Theft Summit and an upcoming communication on the matter. Councillors Parrish, Mahoney and Fonseca spoke in support of the summit and to future updates on the subject matter. 

In response to Councillor Damerla's enquiry with respect to facility booking for advanced dates, Jodi Robillos, Commissioner, Community Services spoke to the allocation policy and the requirement to serve Mississauga groups first. Ms. Robillos spoke to working offline with Councillor Damerla to review specific examples. In response to Councillor Damerla, Geoff Wright, Commissioner, Transportation and Works spoke to providing comments from the development and construction teams regarding Mattamy's concerns with Metrolinx in preparation for the meeting at the Region of Peel.

Acting Mayor Horneck and Members of the General Committee spoke to various events and celebrations taking place in Mississauga.
