Public Comments: Advance registration is required to participate and/or to make comments in the virtual public meeting. Pursuant to Section 42 of the Council Procedure By-law 0139-2013, as amended:

Heritage Advisory Committee may grant permission to a member of the public to ask a question of Heritage Advisory Committee, with the following provisions:

1.Questions shall be submitted to the Clerk at least 24 hours prior to the meeting;
2.A person is limited to two (2) questions and must pertain specific item on the current agenda and the speaker will state which item the question is related to;.
3.The total public question period time is 15 minutes maximum and shall not be extended by the Chair; and
4.Any response not provided at the meeting will be provided in the format of a written response

8.1

Request to Alter a Heritage Designated Property: 1200 Old Derry Road (Ward 11)

Jim Holmes, Citizen Member expressed concern regarding the impact of construction on the village, and was informed that staff would continue to work with the Region on this project.

Ajay Puri of the Region of Peel advised the Committee that residents would be notified of a public meeting scheduled for next month. Mr. Puri responded to the Committee concerns regarding truck traffic through the village.

  That the request to alter the heritage designated property at 1560 Dundas Street West as per the Corporate Report dated June 29, 2021 from the Commissioner of Community Services be approved.

Request to Alter a Heritage Designated Property: 915 North Service Road (Ward 1)

• RECOMMENDATION HAC-0050-2021
  Moved By Councillor C. Parrish

  That the request to alter the heritage designated property at 915 North Service Road as per the Corporate Report dated June 16, 2021 from the Commissioner of Community Services be approved with the following conditions.

  1. That lime based mortar be used for the chimney repointing; and
  2. That if the new porch tile is found to match the existing, the side porch tiling be repaired rather than replaced.

Proposed Addition to the Municipal Heritage Register, 3611 Mavis Road (Ward 7)

  That the property at 3611 Mavis Road be added to the Municipal Heritage Register for its associative value and that the appropriate City officials be authorized and directed to take the necessary action to give effect thereto as outlined in the report dated June 29, 2021 from the Commissioner of Community Services.

Request to Demolish a Heritage Listed Property: 1470 Pinetree Cres. (Ward 1)

  That the property at 1470 Pinetree Cres., which is listed on the City’s Heritage Register, is not worthy of heritage designation, and consequently, that the owner’s request to demolish proceed through the applicable process, as per the Corporate Report from the Commissioner of Community Services dated June 29, 2021.

Matthew Wilkinson, Citizen Member advised the Committee that he felt the revised plan was complimentary with its use of brick and decorative details.

Meadowvale Village Heritage Conservation District Subcommittee - Report 4 - June 8, 2021 - 0466-2021

Jim Holmes noted support of the report and no further discussion was held.

OTHER BUSINESS

Matthew Wilkinson, Citizen Member inquired how listing the property located at 3611 Mavis Road pertains to a rented facility and was advised by staff that it can be either listed or designated. The Committee discussed the commemoration of the property due to its cultural significance.

Mr. Dunlop, Manager, Heritage Planning and Indigenous Relations provided the Committee an update on the Glen Abby Golf course and advised the Committee that Clublink withdrew its appeal.

Mr. Dunlop advised the Committee that the renovation and reinstallation of the bellfry tower was nominated for an architecture conservatory award.
