Eric Zhao, Active Transportation Coordinator and Matthew Sweet, Manager Active Transportation spoke to the Shared Micro-mobility Program 2025 Pre-Launch Season update and noted the following highlights:

•    2024 ridership statistics
•    enhanced parking stations with Tier 1 and 2 parking models
•    mandated parking only zones (MPO)
•    rider violations and response time for infractions 
•    that liability would be on a case by case basis
•    proactive monitoring program
•    engagement and education with BIAs, school boards and community events to promote education and safe riding practices 
•    branding and colour schemes
•    battery safety procedures

Subcommittee members expressed concern with:

•    compliance and infractions
•    liability for accidents
•    training and certification for riders
•    identification of private scooters
