Councillor Dasko requested an item be added to the agenda under Matters to be Considered 6.1 - Spring Campaigns to include a discussion regarding road lawn signs.

Road Safety Promotional Subcommittee DRAFT Minutes - September 21, 2021

Members of the Committee discussed the upcoming "Let's Move Mississauga" 2022 Spring Campaign and the "Walk to School" Campaign.

Catherine Nguyen-Pham, Communications Advisor will share the creative in late February or March to both Committees.

Michelle Sanstra, Legislative Coordinator to schedule a joint Committee meeting Traffic Safety Committee for the month of February-March.

Councillor Saito spoke to upcoming spring and summer events, deadlines, available and existing inventory and Committee participation. 

Erica Warsh, Project Leader, Vision Zero will follow up with the Subcommittee regarding dates for public works week. 

Members of the Committee discussed the Slow Streets Lawn Signs creative design, colour options and timelines. Ms. Warsh will follow up with Colin Patterson, Manager, Road Safety regarding creative design and present the re-design for Committee approval by the end of February.

    That the funds in the amount of up to $5,000 from the 2022 Committee support budget be allocated to the Road Safety Promotional Subcommittee for the purpose of promotion for the 2022 Campaign in April, Let’s Move Mississauga, be approved.

Members of the Committee discussed the purchase of microfiber cloths as a promotional giveaway item.  They also discussed the pricing, quantity, logo design, messaging, committee budget and ordering.

Catherine Nguyen-Pham to design a logo and forward it by email to the Committee Members for approval.

    1. That the funds in the amount of up to $5,000 from the 2022 Committee support budget be allocated to the Road Safety Promotional Subcommittee for promotional giveaway items for 2022, be approved.
    2. That the Road Safety Promotional Subcommittee be granted authorization from the Road Safety Committee to make final decisions regarding design work and promotional items on Road Safety campaigns when time is a factor and/or for events where promotional items can be distributed.

Anne Marie Hayes, Citizen Member spoke to two new videos with Peel Regional Police regarding penalties for street racing and will showcase the video at a future meeting. 

Erica Warsh, Project Zero, Leader gave a quick update on the Road Safety Survey responses and will present the findings at a future meeting and spoke to a motion that was passed by Council regarding an amendment to Bill 54.
