A. Mrocheck spoke to his concerns with the naturalized area in Glen Erin Woodlands Park and provided suggestions for improvements.

In response to Councillor J. Horneck, A. Mrocheck spoke to his communications with staff. In response to Councillor J. Horneck, Jodi Robillos, Commissioner, Community Services spoke to the Naturalization program and One Million Trees program and noted staff worked with the Conservation Authority and community groups. Further, J. Robillos addressed the phases of the projects and spoke to the maintenance schedule. Councillor J. Horneck advised he would connect with A. Mrocheck offline. 

Councillor D. Damerla spoke to adding signage to indicate naturalization is intentional. In response to D. Damerla, J. Robillos spoke to signage; the process for naturalization assessments and noted industrial areas are more often naturalized to reduce heat. Further, J. Robillos spoke to the stages of naturalization.

In response to Councillor C. Fonseca, Samuel Rogers, Commissioner, Transportation and Works spoke to connecting offline with Councillor C. Fonseca to discuss the timeline regarding an update on Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) cameras. 

In response to Councillor C. Fonseca, S. Rogers confirmed that the report regarding flood mitigation is planned to come to the General Committee on September 18. Further, S. Rogers noted the scope will include recommendations regarding overland flooding; ground water flooding; flood mitigation and communication with the exception of sanitary sewer flooding as is it is a Region of Peel matter.

In response to Councillor J. Horneck, S. Rogers spoke to working offline to address concerns regarding specific locations for signage related to the e-scooter program.

In response to Councillor J. Horneck, Geoff Wright, City Manager and Chief Administrative Officer confirmed Metrolinx has control over their own location signage and noted specific locations can be addressed by coordinating with MiWay and working with Metrolinx. 

Councillor N. Hart spoke to a previous request related to garbage clean up at Paul Coffey Park; not allowing groups to repeat book when they don't leave the site clean and concerns about over parking impeding emergency vehicles. Jodi Robillos, Commissioner, Community Services noted that large parks have garbage removal twice per day and the cost is built into the staff rate as part of sanitation schedule. J. Robillos spoke to patrolling and noted there are special units on the weekends. Raj Sheth, Commissioner, Corporate Services spoke to enforcement and increasing it at these identified locations. J. Robillos noted groups are charged back where extra cleanup is required and tracked where possible. 

Mayor C. Parrish requested garbage cans be tripled at Paul Coffey Park and ensuring those who leave garbage are not able to book again.

In response to Mayor C. Parrish, Diana Rusnov, Director, Legislative Services and City Clerk spoke to the process for minutes of committee meetings and noted they are intended to capture actions and directions only. Mayor C. Parrish requested more details in minutes to provide more clarity.

Mayor C. Parrish spoke to sharing information with the public about how funding is shared and how expenses are incurred by the Municipality versus the Region of Peel. Mayor C. Parrish and Councillor C. Fonseca spoke to seeking additional funding support from the provincial government for flood mitigation.

Deputy Mayor and Councillor M. Mahoney requested more communication to the public regarding private scooter usage versus the city run pilot program.

Members of the General Committee spoke to various events and celebrations taking place in Mississauga.

That the City Solicitor or designate be authorized to execute Minutes of Settlement and take such additional steps as may be required to complete and implement the proposed settlement of the Superior Court Application commenced by Services and Housing in the Province pertaining to 185 and 211 Lakeshore Road East.
