Michael Hoy, Supervisor, Environmental Planning, City of Brampton presented on Centre for Community Energy Transformation.
Members of the Committee encouraged collaboration with other environmental networks. Melanie Kramer, Community Group Representative advised of SNAP (Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Program) opportunities in Mississauga that would tie into green structure and provide opportunities to change the landscape to support energy transmission.
Alice Casselman, Community Group Representative inquired about carbon offsets and requested to see more focus on the green infrastructure and planting of trees.
Diane Zimmerman, Manager of Environment advised that the City of Mississauga is actively working on reducing emissions and noted that 99% of green house gases come from the community.
