We recognize these peoples and their ancestors as peoples who inhabited these lands since time immemorial. John Dunlop explained that typically permits are not issued until the matter is reviewed by the Heritage Advisory Committee. Jim Holmes, Chair asked if the Heritage bylaw allowed for an issuance of a permit after the matter was reviewed by the Heritage Conservation District Subcommittee but prior to the matter being reviewed by the Heritage Advisory Committee. Mr. Dunlop confirmed that such a provision does exist within the heritage bylaw but that it had not been previously used.
