CookThat the resignation of Chirine Constantini, Citizen Member effective February 28, 2024 from the Heritage Advisory Committee dated February 27, 2024, be received.Received11.OTHER BUSINESS Matthew Wilkinson, Citizen Member discussed the history of Summer Records established in 1974 by Jerry Brown and its location in Malton and advised the Heritage Advisory Committee that its first album production was by a local Jamaican band called Earth, Roots and Water entitled "Innocent Youths". Mr. Wilkinson also informed the Committee that CBC did a short documentary on the creation of Summer Records. Councillor Carolyn Parrish invited Matthew Wilkinson, Citizen Member to attend at a recording studio in Malton to share the history of Summer Records and members discussed commemoration of Summer Records for its cultural aspects. John Dunlop, Manager, Indigenous Relations, Heritage and Museums advised the Heritage Advisory Committee that the album would be featured in the Museums of Mississauga history hunt and would be digitized for listeners. Mr. Dunlop further advised the Heritage Advisory Committee that CBC did a documentary regarding Patty Wars which took place in 1988 in relation to the renaming of the Jamaican patty and the involvement of the Black Action Defence group and noted their ties to Summer Records.
