Mr. Sweet, Manager, Active Transportation introduced Vikram Hardatt and David Forsey from the IBI Group and provided an update on micro-mobility within the City. 

Mr. Hardatt and Mr. Forsey provided a presentation on MicroMobility Project Phase 1 and spoke to the Study Scope and Objectives, System Models, Vehicle Types, Governance Models, Operational Considerations, Evaluation Framework, Potential Service Area and Next Steps.

Members of the Committee engaged in discussion and inquired about metrics, pannier (basket), utilitarian trips, future consideration for tourism, use of multi-use City trails, seasonal availability, helmets, type(s) of modes used, and bike return.

Councillor Dasko advised Mr. Hardatt and Mr. Forsey that Ward 1 is available to participate in the bicycle share pilot project.

Mr. Hardatt and Mr. Forsey responded to the Committee's inquiries.

Ms. Lapp provided a presentation on the MNAI Preliminary Natural Assets Inventory and discussed the Project Background and Goals, Municipal Natural Assets Definition, Natural Assets Inventory, Inventory Datasets, Online Dashboard, Natural Assets Map, Asset Registry, Condition Scores, Preliminary Risk Assessment, Next Steps and Looking Ahead.

Members of the Committee engaged in discussion and inquired about the inclusion of private land planting, data collection management, Mississauga dashboard, and enhanced assets.

Ms. Lapp responded to the Committee's inquiries.

Alice Casselman, Community Organization Representative and Brad Bass, Citizen Member volunteered to work offline with Ms. Lapp regarding cumulative and compatible data.

    That staff be directed to develop and launch a Residential Indoor Wood Burning Stoves/Fireplaces educational campaignin collaboration with the Region of Peel, as well as key internal and external stakeholders, and to investigate existing home retrofit incentives available to City of Mississauga residents as outlined in the memorandum entitled “Impacts of Residential Indoor Wood Burning Stoves/Fireplaces and Staff Recommended Next Steps” dated February 18, 2022 from Stefan Szczepanski, Director, Parks, Forestry and Environment.

Members of the Committee discussed the options of reporting to Council the progress of EAC's Work Plan. Dianne Zimmerman, Manager, Environment and staff will prepare and present the memorandum to EAC at a future meeting.

Alice Casselman, Community Organization Representative spoke to the 35th year anniversary of Association for Canadian Educational Resources (ACER) and the planning of a celebration in June.
