Councillor Dasko, Vice-chair called the meeting to order at 9:32 AM.

Councillor Dasko, Vice-chair cited the Indigenous Land Statement.

That the July 4, 2023 Environmental Action Committee Agenda be approved.

That the June 6, 2023 Environmental Action Committee Minutes be approved.

Ibrahim Dia, Planner spoke to the 2024 Future Directions Parks, Forestry & Environment.

Derek Stone, Citizen Member enquired about the consultation phases and engagement. Mr. Dia responded that the feedback received was significant compared to 2019 and spoke to the successful tactics used.

Prabhjit Banga, Citizen Member enquired about the stage of the environmental assessment in Port Credit and the start of the project after the assessment is completed. Mr. Dia responded that it is near completion of the process and explained the next steps after the completion of the assessment.

Desislava Stefanova, Outreach Manager, Clean Air Partnership spoke about the Clean Air Council Declaration 2023-2027.

Melanie Kramer, enquired about funding and if municipalities pay for a membership. Ms. Stefanova responded that the municipalities pay a membership fee and apply for funding from Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) and other foundations to cover research.

Karen Pawlowski, Citizen Member enquired if the Committee had a platform to share upcoming city/community events pertaining to Environmental initiatives. Councillor Dasko, Vice-Chair enquired with Michelle Sanstra, Legislative Coordinator if  there is,  Ms. Sanstra will enquire and follow-up with the Committee at its next meeting.
