Martha Cameron, Legislative Coordinator, called the meeting to order and called for nominations for appointment to the office of the Chair for the Meadowvale Village Heritage Conservation District Subcommittee for the term ending November 14, 2026. Terry Wilson, nominated Jim Holmes.  No further nominations were received.

At this point Jim Holmes took over as Chair.

    That Jim Holmes, Citizen Member be appointed as Chair of the Meadowvale Village Heritage Conservation District Subcommittee for the term ending November 14, 2026, or until a successor is appointed.

Jim Holmes, Chair called for nominations for appointment to the office of Vice-Chair for the Meadowvale Village Heritage Conservation District Subcommittee for the term ending November 14, 2026.  Greg Young nominated Greg Laughton, Citizen Member, for appointment.  No further nominations were received.

    That Greg Laughton, Citizen Member be appointed as Vice-Chair of the Meadowvale Village Heritage Conservation District Subcommittee for the term ending November 14, 2026, or until a successor is appointed.

We formally recognize the Anishinaabe origins of our name and continue to make Mississauga a safe space for all Indigenous peoples.”

Greg Young, Citizen Member requested that the addition of a garage be removed in reference to item 6.1

Subcommittee Members discussed the submission and alterations that support the heritage characteristics and addressed massing, the garage doors and location of both front and north stairways.

    That the memorandum dated February 1, 2023 entitled "Request to Alter 7076 Old Mill Lane (Ward 11) from John Dunlop, Manager Heritage Planning and Indigenous Relations, be approved.

Subcommittee members inquired about the following items:

  • the coating on the front and back of the Second Line guide rail;
  • the sidewalk widening on Old Derry Road and concerns with damage due to machinery and snow removal;
  • property standards concerns within the heritage district.
